So, the jury is in and the Conservatives have won the backing of the nation for the next five years, So, with all election talk now over perhaps we can ask our political leaders to listen again to the pleas of the small businesses who have far too often been overlooked despite the fact that they contribute massively to the economy and employment.

A start has been made in this year’s Budget with the promise to do more for small businesses, so we’re on to a good start. But there is something that needs to be said on behalf of all small businesses out there.

We want simplicity, we want transparency and no more tsunamis of information that send our heads spinning – I’m talking about the countless rules and regulations that test even the strongest individuals. Do you know how many UK laws there are? Over 100 and then we have the Finance Act which has a few hundred pages to sift through and let’s not forget the secondary legislation that most might not have even heard about – that’s Statutory Instruments (SIs) for those in the know and according to Parliament there are 3,500 SIs every year and can vary from a single sheet to hundreds of pages.

So, taking the above into consideration it’s understandable why a clearer and simpler system needs to be put in place. Small businesses need to concentrate on running their business and not be expected to know every rule and regulation out there so please, hear our plea and keep it simple.

If you like the way we think – you will like the way we work.
