/ Budget, Tax

“The length of this document defends it well against the risk of it being read.” Winston Churchill

With the July Budget out of the way you’ve all had a chance to step back, digest the announcements and make sense of what’s changed. But it doesn’t end there. There is the matter of the Finance Bill which must be debated and passed by Parliament to bring the tax changes into law.

If you don’t know, the Finance Bill is 337 pages and contains 127 sections so it’s not for the weak hearted. But don’t worry you’re not expected to read it – but if it’s a toss-up between this and the latest Harper Lee novel I know which one I’ll read. I can’t imagine why you would read it especially when you’re too busy running your business – to be honest I don’t know any business owners that would.

This sort of thing is left to your accountant who wouldn’t necessarily read every page themselves but they’ll already know what’s important and should be in a position to tell you what you need to know.

If you like the way we think – you will like the way we work.
