HMRC and common sense? (revisited)

Last week I was celebrating the fact that common sense seemed to have broken out in the context of “trivial benefits in kind”.

It seems that I spoke too soon! Although for most trivial benefits the new rules come in on 6th April for both income tax and national insurance there are some benefits (non-cash vouchers) where the rules change on 6th April for income tax they will not change until the Finance Bill going through Parliament receives Royal Assent (expected sometime in July). Makes sense, doesn’t it?

I take back everything I said last week!

If you like the way we think, you will like the way we work!
