Cyber Monday or every day Monday?

Has the world gone crazy, or just crazier? I could not believe the reports of the fighting and rioting in stores across the country and then seeing with my own eyes the lengths people were going to just for a TV and underwear simply because it was ‘Black Friday’. I get it, it was ridiculously cheap but you need to contain yourself!

An American tradition which came about in the 1960’s to kick-off the Christmas shopping season after Thanksgiving, it lurked in the background in the UK for a few years before finally making its mark and now it’s become an invasion of meerkats with heads popping up everywhere looking for the best deals.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for businesses to adopt a ‘best deal all year round' policy which could potentially result in more customers? Be consistent with your pricing, keep it reasonable and you’ll be guaranteed lots of happy customers and you won’t have to resort to Black Friday or Cyber week tactics to win new ones – and the likelihood of having a riot on your hands will be zero!

You could say that accountants adopt a similar approach and although seen as boring because of their constant number crunching, their focus will always be on their clients and giving them the best service possible at all times.

If you like the way we think – you will like the way we work.

AIMS Accountants for Business are the largest independent association of professionally qualified accountants in the UK specialising in accountancy for small, local and independent businesses.
